Healing is in your Hands: Rewrite Your Story
You deserve support that sees your whole story — mind, body, and creative spirit. Our sessions may include conversation, creative reflection, gentle nervous system tools, + metaphor-based exploration. There’s no expectation to be “good at art,” and all parts of you are welcome here.

Why Does it Work?
At Creative Fox Counseling Center, we offer a unique and supportive space for healing and self-discovery.
Personalized Approach
Collaborate on a therapeutic path that honors your individuality and goals.
Expressive Arts Integration
Utilize creative modalities to explore and express emotions beyond words.
Trauma-Informed Resilience
Experience a safe and supportive environment tailored to your unique healing journey.
Why This Work Works
By combining art, story, and evidence-based trauma care, we restore agency and voice. Clients move from survival to creation—transforming old patterns into new possibilities.
Healing happens when we integrate what’s been silenced, honor every part of the Self, and invite creativity back into the process of becoming whole.

Paige and Alexis were residents together at Capella University’s Community Mental Health Counseling program, both graduating with honors in March 2025.
We are ready to meet you where you are—with curiosity, compassion, and creativity.

therapy Customized Just for You
Have you been playing life on the hard level?
You are not broken—you’re becoming.
You’re in the right place.
Feeling Stuck + Overwhelmed?
You’re really good at walking on eggshells…
Maybe you’ve spent years—at home, at work, or in relationships—impacted by the weight of coercive control and interpersonal violence.
Nothing Makes Sense
You might feel like an outsider, looking in on a world where your path feels meaningless or disconnected.
Shame and Guilt are Frequent Visitors
Or you might carry shame and guilt for your emotional ups and downs, especially in moments where you react instead of respond.
If any of this resonates, we want you to know:
You are not alone.

Your brain is
brilliant at survival.
Therapy helps
it learn to rest.

Meeting the Parts of Your Brain
at Creative Fox Counseling Center*

Your Wise Owl
The wise owl symbolizes the prefrontal cortex, the center of executive functions and rational thinking. When we’re upset, it’s like our owl has ‘flown away,’ akin to Dan Siegel’s hand model of ‘flipping the lid.’

Your Watch Dog
The watchdog represents the amygdala, constantly scanning our environment to help us identify and respond to threats. As stress intensifies, our protective watchdog can escalate from cautious vigilance to an ‘Attack Dog’ mode.

Your Possum
The possum represents the dorsal vagal complex, activating our primitive survival instincts located at the back of the brain. It helps us freeze (dissociate and ignore an issue) and fawn (neglect our needs to please others) in response to toxic stress, also known as trauma.
*Note: Robyn Gobbel is responsible for translating the language of polyvagal theory into this easy-to-understand version!

Most therapy talks about thoughts.
We honor your body, creativity, and survival wisdom too.
